Being “saved” and being “good and kind” are often interchanged by many; however, heaven is for the saved. Being saved is the BEST and MOST important blessing that we could ever receive. God wants to save us (2 Peter 3:9).
God’s New Testament Salvation Plan:
o Be taught the Word – (John 6:45)
o Believe in him – (Mark 16:16)
o Repent of sins – (Luke 13:3, 5)
o Confess his name – (Matt 10:32)
o Be baptized – (Matt 28:19)
After baptism (water immersion)
(Acts 8:35-39), for the remission of sins
(Acts 2:38) the Lord adds the believer to
His church (Matt 16:18, Acts 2:47), and
gives them a new life (2 Cor 5:17).
Once saved is not always saved. Peter said one who returns to the world after knowing the Lord, is worse than before (2 Peter 2:20-22). The word explains that it is possible to depart from God (Heb 3:12).
After being saved, we MUST continue in
the doctrine and fellowship of Christ
(Acts 2:41-42).
Are You Saved according to the
word of God?
Only God can free and deliver us from sin. God the Father sent God the Son to this sinful world to be crucified and die for our sins. Jesus became God’s ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world. Jesus came to take away sin (John 1:29).
What’s The Purpose of Jesus’ blood?
The blood of Jesus cleanses us from sin.
“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The blood of Jesus washed, cleansed, sanctified, and justified us. It washed away our sins through water baptism (1 Cor 6:9-11).
There is POWER in the blood!
The blood of Jesus has cleansing power. It has freed and cleansed many. The blood of Jesus has liberated and saved fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, thieves, the covetous, drunkards, revilers, extortionists, those who practice witchcraft, haters, liars, and murderers. This same blood can wash and cleanse you too!
Only the blood of Jesus can justify us (make us right with God). The blood of Jesus gives us access to PEACE, JOY, GRACE, HOPE, SALVATION, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We need the blood of Jesus!
Almost everywhere we look today we find sickness, depression, and chaos. Yet, refuge from the storm can be found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Jesus, as He prepared to give His life for us, encouraged His disciples exclaiming, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:1-2). There’s no sickness in that place!
Don’t give in to despair anymore. Jesus declared, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” (John 14:16). God’s people have everlasting comfort and that Helper is the Holy Spirit.
We all live in the same malicious world. However, when we become a child of God, we have hope in Christ’s love and promises. “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast” (Hebrews 6:19).
“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good…” (Psalm 34:8).
Bereavement Ministry – The Bereavement Ministry helps to provide comfort to the saints of Lansing during their time of mourning.
Outreach Ministry – The Outreach Ministry encourages fellowship, embraces serving the community, and engages the assembly of the saints.
The Lansing Center – The Center offers seminars and workshops on personal and professional development, as well as classes that are designed to empower our youth.
Sick & Fellowship Ministry – The Sick & Fellowship Ministry serves to encourage the Lansing COC family during times of illness and adversity.
Youth Ministry – The Youth Ministry is designed to empower our youth to take an active role in the kingdom of God.
Education Ministry – The Education Ministry seeks for all participants to become more knowledgeable about the word of God.
Nursery Ministry – The Nursery Ministry provides free childcare assistance to all parents (both members and non-members), allowing them to attend worship services and other church functions and programs at Lansing COC.
Nursing Home Ministry – The Nursing Home Ministry is committed to promoting and encouraging the occupants of the nursing home. The ministry members sing spiritual songs and present a short bible lesson to brighten the smiles on the resident’s faces.
The Virtuous Woman Ministry – The Virtuous Woman Ministry consists of various activities, classes, and events geared toward empowering ladies of all age groups, to assist them in their everyday lives as women of God.
